Alkora presents:TARAFInternational BalKan Jazz Ensemble. Taraf, is a international cooperation between ALKORA and gipsy musicians from Bucarest of international name
recognition and prestige.
Since late 2010 Carlos Urroz works seamlessly with Julian Cobzaru, Zingaro musician based in San Sebastian,
joining arts and experience a way of understanding the Jazz without prejudice to creating and developing music. An explosion of rhythms and songs with great force and many roots in the execution of their performances ,
surprising elegance and speed of their performances. Taraf's repertoire is incredible broad. From traditional jazz to jazz-fusion. From gypsy music, Balkan Jazz, Classical Russian, Balkan music to Afro-Cuban rhythms and African dance fusion.
Taraf shows on stage in their finest traditional and modern instruments like the
Accordion of Julian Cobzaru and the essential sound of the Bass of Turcitu
Aurel,
the powerful rhythm section of Carlos Urroz on Drums, Congas and Cajon Flamenco and complete the canvas:
the expressive power and sensuality of the dance of Ana Belén García.

jazz.

currently resides in Guipuzcoa, working assiduously with Alkora and Carlos Urroz, as well as Balkan and jazz
musicians, based in Spain.
